My winter normally looks a lot like this
Overpriced 1/2 sandwich & soup from Dean & Deluca - Discarded Christmas trees on my way to work- Classic Chock Full o' Nuts cups of joe
Yes, that's 16 flavors of frozen yogurt a day. And all the toppings your stomach (and wallet) can muster. I have a serious love for traditional fro-yo. None of that fruity, tart nonsense. I've had enough of all the Pinkberries of the world.
16 Handles started in New York in 2008 (even though the whole design/concept screams LA to me) and are expanding like mad. They're doing things like saving the world or something by planting 16 trees every day, and using spoons made out of cornstarch (WHAT THE WHAT?). The best part is that the majority of the flavors are reduced fat or fat free! I mean, I guess improving upon the Earth's environment might be the best part of all this for other less degenerate humans like myself....

I'm cold.

LOVE fro-yo! Our favorite place is called Project Yogurt, and they have five charities every month they donate to, so your yogurt consumption goes to a good cause. :) It makes me feel slightly better about how often we go.
ReplyDeleteSalted caramel? Yummmmm. Our big chain here is called Forever Yogurt. Can't wait for summer to come again!
ReplyDeleteThat concept is totally LA! We have quite a few of these chains, specifically Yogurtland, Menchie's, and Red Mango (seriously couldn't think of a better knock-off name?!). But none of them even pretend to be environmentally conscious besides not using styrofoam, which is totally illegalized by LA County now, I think. Happy yogurt-eating!
