It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Girl Scout cookie season! I could easily eat a box or two completely on my own. And, I'm oddly creeped out by the doppleganger version of my childhood self on the box. Is there a universal redhead gene out there?

So, here's something random I learned when trolling Instagram in mass confusion. Apparently two different bakers make girl scout cookies. Depending on what company distributes to your area, Samoas may be called Caramel DeLites where you live. Madness! They are Samoas! Also, Tagalongs are called Peanut Butter Patties or some such nonsense by the altered universe cookie company. I guess I have to stay in New York forever in fear of having to eat cookies one day by the wrong name. (This could throw off my entire equilibrium).

What's your favorite girl scout cookie?

  1. Thin Mints! The same name for both companies. :) Though I've heard that one company makes them vegan and the other doesn't. I don't care, they're delicious.

  2. I freaking LOVE Tagalongs. I've never heard of the "Caramel Delites" or "Peanut Butter Patties" versions! Crazy!

  3. Samoas are the best Girl Scout Cookie, and that is a fact. Second best are Thin Mints and third best are Do-Si-Dos. I was a Brownie for one year and have really done my research. ;-)

  4. I definitely grew up eating (and selling) Caramel DeLites and Peanut Butter Patties! I'm intrigued by the Samoa recipes I keep seeing on Pinterest. They probably don't compare to the real thing, but might be good enough to hold us over the other 11 months of the year.

  5. omg I totally thought they had stopped selling caramel delites and peanut butter patties! I never knew they were the same as Samoas and Tagalongs. The other company has way more clever names.

  6. Samoas FTW! I grew up with samoas, but in the last few years in Illinois they were called Caramel Delights. I almost didn't buy them because I hate that name so much.

  7. I haven't had girl scout cookies in years! I remember loving them though. My mother would always get them when we were younger. Love those thin mints!
